Berlin-based fintech startup, Raisin, has launched a UK website for its savings deposit platform which allows users to access interest rates for savings deposit accounts across Europe.

The startup was initially set up to work with the banking regulation throughout the EU, allowing consumers to compare rates throughout the continent in order to make the best choice for themselves.

“This represents the beginning of our journey to bring great partner banks with attractive offers to U.K. savers,” Raisin UK CEO said in a statement, as reported by TechCrunch. “Over time we will be introducing enticing marketplace features to offer savers a better deal for their money.”

Prior to this UK site launch, the startup’s offerings were based in Euros. Through the startup’s platform, users can open accounts, find the best interest rates, change the offering used if necessary, obtain checks which are anti-money laundering and use a tool to help with savings, an aspect which according to the company saw investments of over €5 billion.

PayPal, Thrive Capital, Ribbit Capital and Index Ventures are all investors in the company which has raised funds worth over €60 million since its founding in 2013.

The UK site is currently continuing to add-on and partner with banks to bring its consumers more products and services. BACB has already partnered with the startup offering fixed-term savings accounts.

By partnering with Raisin, banks receive more deposits as well as an increased exposure throughout the continent, which they may not otherwise receive.

According to the company, its savings tool throughout Europe has seen use from over 100,000 users so far.
