Stepathlon Lifestyle receives funding for its event and exercise platform

Mumbai-based online health and fitness platform, Stepathlon Lifestyle, raises new investment for its group-focused digital events and activities. 

The platform turns physical fitness into an interactive game-like activity by bringing users together digitally. The company has worked with approximately 722 companies to host these activities. 

“At a time when the world is dealing with the effects of Covid-19, the need for positivity and a focus on health and wellbeing is paramount, making Stepathlon more relevant than ever in the short, medium and long term,” Co-founder of Stepathlon Lifestyle said, as reported by Livemint. 

Josh Liberman and Mark Adams are among investors in the current round, which sees participation on an international scale. 

Stepathlon Lifestyle provides the companies it works with, with the first party data of their audiences, in order to more effectively learn their market. 

The platform’s available activities range from walking and running to yoga and dance, among others.

According to a company release, an aspect of the new funding will be put toward expansion plans into other sectors of business based in health and wellness, as well as to geographical expansion plans internationally, Livemint reported. 

Since the company’s founding in 2012, Stepathlon Lifestyle has gained a presence in 65 countries so far.

“We feel there is both, an obligation and an opportunity for us, and our partners, to ‘wrap our arms around the planet’ demonstrating care for the well-being of people wherever they are; whoever they are; whenever they need i.e. for anyone, anywhere, anytime,” Krishnan said to Livemint. 

Another aspect of the funds, according to the same release, will be used for team growth plans as well as technology support and development. 

The startup has seen 500,000 people join in on its digital fitness activities so far.
