Heathtech startup, Eka.Care, receives $4.5 mn funding from early-stage VCs, angel investors

Bengaluru-based healthtech startup, Eka.Care, founded by former co-founders of Goibibo, raises seed round worth $4.5 mn for its digital platform and services. Investors in the round included early-stage venture capital firms – 3one4Capital, Eximius Ventures, Speciale Invest, – and a clutch of angel investors such as Deep Kalra, Ashish Kashyap, Rajesh Magow, Kunal Shah, Abhishek Begerhotta, Sujeet Kumar, Gaurav Munjal, Shashank Kumar, Anshuman Bapna and Arjun Seth, among others.

The company provides a platform and mobile app which connects users or patients directly to dcotors and healthcare providers. The startup allows users to create records and profiles for themselves to better track appointments and documents, among others.

The connected healthcare platform also provides other services such as appointments, tracking, scheduling, prescription services, payment features, understanding and diagnosing symptoms and communication with providers, among others.

“Our vision is to bring change in the way healthcare is delivered in the country by building tools for healthcare providers and patients,” co-founder at Eka.Care, Vikalp Sahni said.

The new investment round will be put toward hiring plans, continued work on the product itself and the marketing sector, among other aspects.

“Health records are the primary requirement for a better health economy,” Co-founder at Eka.Care, Deepak Tuli said, ET reported. “In India, we are not used to storing health records digitally, which results in unnecessary repeat tests and patients end up paying higher cost for their treatment.”

Since the company’s founding in December 2020, Eka.Care has expanded its availability in 12 languages, so far. In June this year, Eka.Care also became the first company to integrate with the CoWIN portal allowing booking of vaccination slots.
