Food and beverage startup, Living Food, raises Series A worth $7.5 mn

Bangalore-based produce startup, Living Food, raises $7.5 mn investment round for its e-commerce marketplace.

The startup’s platform and primary service focus on providing fresh grocery options in a variety of categories directly to customers within Bangalore itself. Customers can shop by collection, use, or type of products including sections such as beverages, breads and spreads, dairy and alternatives, and Pasta essentials, among others.

“We found plenty of opportunities to grow while remaining focused only on Bengaluru,” Akash Sajith, Living Food’s co-founder and CEO said, Economic Times reported. “This funding round is a testament to our relentless focus on transforming our consumers’ eating behaviours. Living Food will continue to work towards providing locally-sourced healthy food that is good for the people and right for planet earth.”

The company was founded by Sajith, Shikha Lakhanpal and Niranjan Satheesbabu in 2018 and works with local suppliers to provide its products. The new investment round will be put towards hiring plans, product and expansion development, among other aspects.

Investors in the round include Amasia, SOSV, Blume Founders Fund, Sid Yog and Sandeep Singhal. The startup also operates a cloud kitchen service along with 700 units of produce for delivery. Living Food has upcoming geographical expansion plans for its services within this year.
