Bike-share startup, eBikeGO, joins hands with Hero Electric

Amritsar-based transportation startup, eBikeGO, has formed a new business partnership with electric vehicle company, Hero Electric.

The two companies plan to use their abilities in the last mile delivery sector, delivering products to their final destination on the route. Hero Electric and eBikeGO have plans to help the sector move into electric vehicle technology options.

”We are on a mission to disrupt the way last mile delivery happens in India, with our unique smart electric scooter utilisation model that provides for a transformation of the erstwhile delivery ecosystem,” Founder and CEO of eBikeGO, Irfan Khan said. “Our strategic alliance with Hero Electric eBikeGo will play a pivotal role in the mass adoption to electric 2-wheeler adoption in India.”

eBikeGO provides users delivery services as well as bike rental options while using Internet of Things technology, which will come together with Hero Electric’s environmentally sustainable services.

The transportation and mobility startup has raised total funding worth $300,000 since its founding in November 2017.

As part of the new partnership, eBikeGO will be receiving a total of 1000 bikes from the New Delhi-based company, as well as other forms of support. The startup has received 120 bikes so far, ET reported.

“At Hero Electric, we’ve always believed that to solve last mile delivery connectivity, the best option is to go electric,” MD at Hero Electric, Naveen Munjal said. “In the endeavour to drive the same, we have many partners who help not only businesses but also consumers with an affordable and efficient solution. With this partnership, we look forward to leveraging the reach eBikeGO brings to further transform the space and bring more electric vehicles on road.”
