A healthcare startup plans to assist companies by monitoring different aspects of their employees’ health using a device and app, the Hindu Business Line reported. The purpose of the development is to provide companies with access to an aspect of employee productivity which has gained priority, their health and well being, according to V. Thiyagarajan, founder of India Home Health Care. The company is aiming to collaborate with companies by April 2018.

“We are working on the platform right now and will be doing a pilot in February-March before the
launch in April 2018,” V. Thiyagarajan said. The app, which is in the developing stages, will track data about an employee’s blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol levels through a device to detect for diseases such as diabetes and congestive heart failure.

“We have kept the price as low as Rs 200 per employee,” V. Thiyagarajan said. The Chennai-based startup also has a few other areas of focus, namely in a similar diagnostic system for the elderly and in the training of nurses. The elderly-focused diagnostic system, which is set to be launched in July, will cost approximately Rs 1000 per month and use artificial intelligence and the patient’s history to
determine a pattern of disease. The programme will also provide a monthly visit by a nurse, psychotherapist and nutritionist.

“We have a huge amount of medical data available that can be used for predictive analytics,” V
Thiyagarajan said. The other focus area for the company, the training of nurses, is important in the system of healthcare based out of the home, according to V Thiyagarajan. “There are not many educational institutions that train nurses in critical care.” The company’s first training centre for nurses cost Rs 1.2 crore and was launched in Bengaluru. The centre provides training that replicates real-life situations in labs.
