With plans of expanding their national presence, CoWrks has leased commercial space in three separate deals. The company, founded in September 2016, provides shared office spaces for startups and has leased space in Mumbai and Gurugram, of a total of 2.25 lakh sq.ft. “This is in addition to our three existing centres in South India and five under-construction centres spread over 5.5 lakh sq.ft,” Sidharth Menda, chief executive at CoWrks.
The company currently has three running centres of shared office space in Bengaluru and Chennai. The two Bengaluru centres combined cover 2.3 lakh sq.ft and the company will be opening two more such centres in the city. The second centre to be launched in the city of Chennai, which is already home to one spanning 24,000 sq.ft, will be covering 88,000 sq.ft.
The new spaces leased in Mumbai and Gurugram will be home to three centres providing a total of 2,500 seats. The first of these, covering 95,000 sq.ft, will be located in Mumbai. The other two centres were part of separate deals for a total of 1.28 lakh sq.ft of space in Gurugram. All three centres are expected to be running by the end of February, according to an Economic Times reported.
“Given the robust demand for shared office spaces across all major cities, we are moving swiftly to lease and form alliances with landlords to establish and further our presence. We are adding three more centres to our portfolio in key commercial markets of Mumbai and Gurugram,” Menda said.
One of the new Gurugram centres, the RMZ Gurugram Centre, will be part of an IT park spread covering 7.8 lakh sq.ft and providing 800 seats, while the second will provide 700 seats and will be within Paras Twin Towers.
