SafetyCulture raises Series C round worth $45.46 mn

SafetyCulture, a startup which focuses on software and mobile app development, raised $45.46 million to increase its presence around the world, among other purposes.

“This funding means we can continue to build great products, better serve more customers and have a bigger impact on safety and quality for workers all around the world,” Luke Anear, CEO of Safety Culture said, as reported by Deal Street Asia.

The startup’s service, a safety focused checklist provider called iAuditor, has been used by 15,000 total organizations, according to SafetyCulture. The company recently gained a presence in Kansas City and as of the recent funds raised, is valued at $333.37 million.

“SafetyCulture is expanding at a breakneck pace. In the last year alone, over 100 new staff were hired to support the company’s growth,” Anear said. “However, most of the world don’t know we exist; they’ve never heard of SafetyCulture.”

The startup is based in Queensland, Australia, was founded in 2004 by Anear. According to the startup, 4,000 Australian organizations have used iAuditor.

The company’s total funds raised is now $74.25 million. According to Anear, aspects of the recent funds raised will be put toward further product development.

“We’ve been impressed at how quickly some of the world’s largest companies rolled out SafetyCulture’s iAuditor app — clearly addressing a pressing need,” a board member of the startup and partner at Index Ventures, Jan Hammer said. “The market is ripe for disruption, and SafetyCulture, under Luke’s leadership, is leading the way.”

SafetyCulture, which employs 214 people, aims to increase that number using the funds raised in the current Series C round. Another purpose for the funds will be to expand the company’s customer base. The company plans to reach 100 million users in the coming years.

Tiger Global Management led the round which also saw participation from Blackbird Ventures, Index Ventures, Morpheus Ventures, and Scott Farquhar.
