SmartQ purchases Bengaluru-based mini-app provider, Goodbox

Bengaluru-based Goodbox, a mobile app startup focused on businesses, has been purchased by SmartQ for $800,000.

The company was founded by Abey Zachariah, Mayank Bidawatka, Nithin Chandra, Mohit Maheshwari, Anand Kalaginamani, Mahesh Herle and Charan Shetty. The startup provides a platform for businesses to create mini apps within their mobile app, making it easier to reach consumers.

“This is another important landmark for SmartQ as it reinstates our position as a leader Digital Cafeteria Business,” Krishna Wage, CEO and Co-Founder of SmartQ said, as reported by BW Disrupt. “Goodbox already has an existing customer base of 10+ MNCs across the country.”

SmartQ, which is focused on the food industry, provides a digital service of ordering food to a variety of different businesses and industries including colleges, hospitals and corporations, among others.

The company, which is also based in Bengaluru, will be using its newest acquisition to further grow as a business.

“Post the acquisition, SmartQ will further strengthen its digital cafeteria business by adding Goodbox’s customer base to the portfolio,” Wage said. “Next few years are very important for us as an organization. To take the organization to the next level of strategic growth, we are further scaling up our product portfolio, service offerings and business strategy.”

SmartQ has over 100 locations internationally and plans on using its new purchase of Goodbox for expansion purposes on a national scale throughout India.

Goodbox helps simplify the process of purchasing from businesses within mobile apps, by having mini apps from a variety of businesses within its mobile platform.

In the past year, SmartQ’s online platform has seen one crore transactions, and will have Goodbox continue its current services to better serve its expansion plans.
