Andheri-based education startup with a focus on coding, WhiteHat Jr is set to expand its team of educators.
The startup’s platform currently employs over 7,000 educators, 84% of which are under the age of 35, as reported by Livemint.
WhiteHat Jr provides education offerings for students between 6 and 18, matching them with the right educator based on language and need, allowing students to receive an education in the language or languages that work best for them.
As the need for educators on the platform rises, the startup is hiring over 220 teachers per day to their team of women educators.
“In line with this vision, we are delighted to offer a long-term career roadmap to thousands of teachers in the country, and we are thrilled with the response,” Karan Bajaj, WhiteHat Jr Founder and CEO said, as reported by Livemint.
Teachers employed by WhiteHat Jr stand to make approximately between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1.5 lakh, per month.
Since the company’s founding in 2018, the startup has expanded its presence from India to the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
“Digital education and innovation in teaching methodology has brought back the golden age of teaching in the current times of COVID-19,” Bajaj said. “Parents have also warmed up to the idea of online learning and are fully supportive of the new norms of teaching.”
The company has a goal of acquiring a total of 20,000 teachers in India, most of whom have postgraduate degrees, by the end of 2020.
The education startup was acquired by Bengaluru-based BYJU’S for $300 million last month.
