An education and learning startup with a focus on software development training, Newton School, raises a new investment round worth $650,000.
Since the startup’s founding in 2019, Newton School has worked to make software development more accessible, to further allow career opportunities.
“While software engineering is one of the highest paying and fastest growing career paths, access to quality software development training remains limited to students of few top colleges,” Siddharth Maheshwari, CoFounder of Newton School, said, as reported by Times of India.
The online learning platform provides students with a six-month training program, making them workforce-ready in the software development sector.
“We already have 500 students studying on the platform in parallel and we plan to scale it to 10,000 within next year thus having larger intake than all IITs combined” Nishant Chandra, Cofounder of Newton School said, ToI reported.
The Bengaluru-based startup also works to help students find jobs within the industry after going through the training program.
Newton School has raised a total of $1.1 mn since the startup’s founding last year.
“With our unique pay after placement online platform we are democratising software development training and allowing people to cross financial and location barriers to achieve their dream of becoming a great software developer,” Maheshwari said.
The new seed investment round will be put towards hiring and future product development plans, including increasing the number of student spots.
Investors in the round include Nexus Venture Partners, Gaurav Munjal, Roman Saini, Hemesh Singh, AngelList, Srinivas Anumolu, Ajay Gupta and Sahil Aggarwal and K Ganesh.
