Byju’s latest initiative to make education accessible for children in need

Online learning startup, Byjus’s announces its newest program, ‘Byju’s Give Initiative,’ to help make education accessible for children in India.

The Bengaluru-based startup has created the Give Initiative as part of its greater umbrella program, “Education for All.”

“At the heart of this initiative, lies a humble dream of every member of the Byju’s family — to empower children with an equal opportunity to learn and thrive in life,” COO of Byju’s, Mrinal Mohit said via a statement, as reported by Times of India.

The startup’s program seeks to bring digital education services to children in a post-covid 19 world, where remote and distance learning has become the norm.

Byju’s was founded by Byju Raveendran and Divya Gokulnath in 2011. The startup has raised a total of $2.1 billion since its founding.

The company’s recent “Education For All” program is focusing its efforts on providing educational opportunities and tools for children in remote locations that wouldn’t otherwise receive an education.

The company also provides education programs via its website and mobile app for children of various age groups,  helping them learn and prepare for school-based exams, among others. The startup has expanded its digital presence to over 1700 cities so far.

As part of the ‘Give Initiative,’ the startup has formed a partnership with Cashify.in, to help refurbish donated technology to provide children, aiding them further in digital learning. Technology can be pre-used or new to be donated and will be supplied via the new program.

Gurugram-based Cashify.in is a consumer electronic startup that has been working to fix or reconstruct used technology devices before selling them on their e-commerce website.

As part of the ‘Education For All’ initiative, Byju’s plans to bring educational opportunities to five million children in the next five years, by 2025.
