Childcare tech startup, Nanit, raises Series C investment worth $25 mn

New York-based health tech startup focused on childcare products, Nanit, raises $25 million investment round.

The company offers different tech products for parents including two baby camera models and two options for smart monitoring systems with the cameras. The startup also provides a mobile app that parents can use to monitor different aspects of a baby’s sleep, among others.

Nanit has future plans for expansion into more childcare and nursery items, TechCrunch reported. Investors in the Series C round include GV, Jerusalem Venture Partners, RRE Ventures, Upfront Ventures and Rho Capital Partners.

The startup’s mobile app allows parents to track and monitor their baby’s sleep and provides alerts as needed based on different tracking aspects. The baby monitor camera also provides a temperature checking feature, a night light, as well as two-way audio features.

The company was founded in February 2015 by Andrew Berman, Assaf Glazer and Tor Ivry. Since its founding, Nanit has raised total funding worth $75 million, so far.

Nanit has also developed and launched a product called “smart sheets” for baby cribs that can help track the baby’s height and other developmental progress using tools within the mobile app, and the design created on the sheets. The startup also provides other smart childcare products including bands that monitor breathing, among others.

Frederique Dame, who is a partner at GV, will join Nanit’s Board of Directors as included in the Series C investment deal.
