Dogsee Chew raises Rs 50 crore investment round led by Mankind Pharma

Bangalore-based Dogsee Chew raises Rs 50 crore in a new investment round for its natural pet food products.

The startup focuses on creating products that are grain-free, gluten-free, unprocessed, free of additives, preservatives and chemicals, according to its website.

“Mankind Pharma has an established history of creating highly successful consumer products,” Co-founder at Dogsee Chew, Bhupendra Khanal said, as reported by Economic Times. “Having the backing of such a giant is a huge vote of confidence for us and we look forward to learning from their expertise.”

The company’s product range includes treats, seasonings and dental chews, so far. The new Series A investment round will be put toward its network of distribution, continued developments of product and in building the company’s brand or reputation overall.

Dogsee Chew was founded by Khanal and Sneh Sharma in 2015 and has raised total funding worth $14 million since its founding. Investors in the current round include Mankind Pharma and Sixth Sense Ventures.

“The trust that people have shown in Dogsee Chew has strengthened our confidence to invest in a brand that is true to its nature,” COO at lead investor Mankind Pharma, Arjun Juneja said, ET reported. “Mankind has always believed in innovation and, with brands like Dogsee Chew that are innovative and young, we see the future of India.”

The startup’s motto is “Feed Healthy, Feed Natural!” and has grown its export network to more than 30 different countries, so far.
