In an effort to help communities in need, the ‘FeedMyHyderabad’ initiative has provided two lakh meals in the city so far.
The ‘FeedMyHyderabad’ plan is part of a greater national initiative, ‘FeedMyCity’ which was launched by the KVN Foundation. The programme has seen partnerships with companies such as HungerBox and is run by a leadership council made up of co-founders and CEOs of companies involved.
“Our heart goes out to everyone affected by this pandemic,” Sreeram Reddy Vanga, a member of the leadership council, said to Times of India. “With this initiative we stand by our pledge to feed daily wagers and their families.”
Vanga is the founder of InnoPark India, which is one of the companies involved with the ‘FeedMyCity’ initiative.
As part of the program, the organization is working to provide safe and fresh food for families and children of essential workers, homeless citizens, migrants, underprivileged and daily wage earning citizens. The program launched in Hyderabad on March 30th and will continue until the Covid-19 lockdown is over.
“All of our professional and personal achievements have no meaning if we can’t help the needy when they need our help the most,” Sandip Patnaik, a member of the leadership council said to Times of India.
Kothaguda, Manikonda and Gachibowli are among the 19 meal distribution locations set up in Hyderabad.
The organization provides around 16,000 meals a day in the city so far, with plans to distribute three lakh meals throughout Hyderabad.
