Education platform, LearnVern, raises $1 mn investment round

LearnVern receives a new investment round worth around $1 million for its e-learning platform focused on helping its students prepare for employment. 

Since the startup’s founding in 2016, LearnVern has grown to offer over 50 free courses and certificates in a variety of local languages on its platform, so far. 

The Ahmedabad-based startup also has a mobile app, which has been downloaded approximately 297,000 times. The platform has around 5.5 lakh students registered across its courses. 

“India’s newly launched National Education Policy 2020 talks about Vocational Education and Vernacular as the 2 most important transformational changes, which we had envisioned as the requirement of India’s students and launched our solutions to meet that need,” LearnVern’s Founder and Chief Executive, Niral Modi, said, as reported by Livemint.

The courses on the startup’s website are divided into four large sectors include technology, business, mechanical/civil and Designing Tools. The startup also has partnerships with different companies in order to provide employment opportunities for its students.

Specific courses offered by the edtech company include Angular JS, Android, PHP, Core Java and Advance Java courses, among others. Companies that have hired graduates from LearnVern include Citibank, Netflix, Google, Wipro, HSBC, HCL and Infosys. 

The new investment round will be put toward adding to its offered services and technology, among others.
