Virohan raises $3 mn for its edtech platform focused on healthcare industry

Gurugram-based vocational education startup, Virohan, raises Series A investment round worth $3 million. 

The startup provides educational courses and certifications specifically for healthcare professionals. Courses offered by Virohan are Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, Operation Theatre Technician, Hospital Administration and Radiology Technician. The programs are presented via short video content, quizzes and other features. 

Since Virohan’s founding in May 2018, the startup has trained over 5000 students and formed employment partnerships with over 650 companies to help provide employment opportunities for their students. 

The new investment will be put toward its digital platform, and physical expansion plans, as the company works to provide its offerings to more students. 

“Virohan has always envisioned becoming the industry leader through our mission to provide a demand-driven and up-to-date curriculum,” Co-founder at Virohan, Kunaal Dudeja said, as reported by Times of India. “With this funding, we plan to educate over one million students by 2025.” 

Virohan was founded by Dudeja, Archit Jayasal, Nalin Saluja and Paarul Dudeja. The startup has grown its presence to over ten locations across India, including in Delhi, Faridabad, Pune and Nagpur. 

The new investment round comes from Tokyo-based internet and venture capital firm, Rebright Partners. 

“Virohan’s full-stack offering brings in key stakeholders and partners in the ecosystem together on a common platform to solve the challenges faced by students, trainers, hospitals and healthcare innovators,” Brij Bhasin of Rebright Partners, said, Times of India reported.
